Posted a pic on a Group on Flickr. It was to post one and give a quote relating to it.
I posted this one (sorry if you have seen it before)

.
With the following text below it.
"The Little Girl with the Matchsticks
It was New Year’s Eve, and a poor little girl was out on the cold streets selling matchsticks. She was hungry and freezing, with neither hat nor shoes. She was afraid to go home for her father would surely beat her as she had not sold any matchsticks that day.
In a nook between two buildings she tried to warm herself by lighting her matches. In the light of the first match she saw a hot iron stove. She then lit a second match and this time saw a fully laden dinner table with a cooked goose that came right toward her. It too disappeared as the match went out. By the light of the third match she saw a beautiful Christmas tree lit with thousands of candles. The lights of the tree went higher and higher until she saw that they were the stars. One became a shooting star and she remembered her grandmother telling her that a shooting star means that a person has died and a soul gone to heaven.
Upon lighting the next match she saw her grandmother, the only person who ever loved her. Hoping to keep her grandmother as long as possible, she quickly lit the whole bunch of matches. Her grandmother then lifted her in her arms and they flew with joy and glory higher and higher and there was no cold, no hunger, no fear – they were with God.
The next morning her body was found with a smile upon her lips, frozen to death and with a burned out bunch of matches. “She wanted to warm herself!” people said. No one knew what beauty she had seen or with what glory she had gone with her grandmother into a joyous new year."

I got this comment...
" One of Hans Christian Andersen's very moving stories. Beautiful photo."
Then THIS, " Yes, very, very moving... Thanks for sharing that Steve.. The photo fits perfectly.. wow. Normally I am a chatter box.. just kind of sitting here letting that all soak in..... You know how you move through life, and just kind of glance at things and then there are some things that just stop you in your tracks, an impact you deeply?.. Steve, I have just had one of those moments..nicely put together."

If I was a girl I may have tears in my eyes now lol! My work is done.

New to photography (relatively speaking when not injured
) One pic of mine has actually caused an emotion in someone. I have had someone print off a Sunrise shot of mine on their Husbands A3 printer. I was pleased they wanted to print it. They gave a donation to a Charity at my request instead of paying me. Again, glad it was liked!Had one in a Calendar for a Childrens Hospice too. BUT..... These comments have simply blown me away!!!!!
Regards,Steve
BUT, If you double click on the pic it will take you to my Flickr.....

So Ok, I don't have my name in lights...I've got it carved in stone. For those unbelievers, may I sugest you visit the Japanese garden at Kingston Lacy in Dorset where the monument with this carved on it can be seen. Nur!
Hi to everybody...ravingmad found the Pelican of London's website and I thought you might like to see the beautiful ship in full sail...![]()
Great big hugs to one and all...
The little bugger was posing for the camera all evening and can be seen here checking out that I'd got him.
Kidnapped corn dolly appeals for help from an upper floor window at the mill in Christchurch. What became of her is not known.
Hi to everybody...had a day out in Weymouth today and took my camera with me and this is the result...very dull day but they didn't come out too badly...the first one is of the harbour area, the next two are the beach area, the middle two are of the Pelican of London, a beautiful ship that takes people on adventure holidays...and the last are of the harbour in Weymouth...was a very pleasant outing even if the weather wasn't that good...
Great big hugs to one and all...

My youngest daughter, five years old. I know "colour popping" is out of fashion of late but her eyes really are this blue!!!! Think this treatment enhances the fact..

As taken from the boat on Saturday
We were at Aberlady Bay this evening to watch and listen to the geese. I got this photo looking back towards Edinburgh. Everytime I look at it I see something new, there is so much going on.
Spot the birds, of which there are many, the bridges, a boat and a fisherman. I did not really notice all the extras when I was taking it.

Ancient religious and cultural centre
It is said that St Paul preached to the Ephesians here and that this is where the first Christian doctrine was laid down.
Of course the high street still gets crowded on Saturdays
This is Pamukkale in Turkey, known as the cotton mountain.
Hotsprings rise from underground and form pools of mineral salts as they have done for thousands of years.
If you move away from the crowds you can get an almost spiritual feeling.
Was asked to take a group shot for the youth project I volunteer for. It was a group shot, outdoors in failing light. I had the 50 1.8 on but in order to get everyone in the shot I would have had to back off too far, I had to quickly bung my 18-55 kit lens on, shots taken @ 22 mm!!! Quite blurry IMHO...... Sharpened them in PP and OK(ish) with the results but still not happy!!! The photos were for the local paper and also to go on the Mayors website, got to e-mail him them!!! As I am photographing my Step-Daughters wedding in December I am a bit concerned
Saw the sign,
Saw the possibilities,
Saw the guy munching a pastie.
Ok, it took twenty three exposures and half an hour, but I think it was worth it.

I took only 3 pics like this one, 2 more are somewhere somewhere in my files.
Could U tell me English name of that technic, I mean: moving with camera after object in motion?
Regards,
Viola

Hi to everybody...had another lovely walk on the heath this morning....took my camera and managed to take some photos before the batteries died on me...LOL...
Those here are mostly to show you the clearness of the sky of all but a few soft clouds in one direction only...the rest of the sky was absolutely cloudless...and one where I did manage to capture a pic of the incredibly elusive little birds that flitter and flutter over the heath so fast your eye can barely catch them and, once in the trees, mostly all you can hear is their song...would you believe on the way home when my camera had died one sat on a fence post only about four feet away and I could get a shot of it...sod's law...LOL...I've put a few more on my own blog that I took this morning and rather like...

Birds taking a drink from a puddle

Great big hugs to one and all...

I like taking pictures of poeple.
I really want feedback on this, because I rearly do portaits.
I have been away from the blog for about two months concentrating on stock photography at www.Dreamstime.com and hopefully following initial rejections raising my game. As of today I have 90 images on that site. If anybody here is interested in microstock photography I will try to answer any questions if asked. Getting into this organization is a tutorial in itself since the reasons given for rejecting images allows one to learn, improve and resubmit. Rejection was not easy to take but necessary as part of my learning process.
My original submission of the broach in the attached image was rejected and I had to start again from scratch. I have other versions now resubmitted.
AGAIN!!!!
Testing DoF, unfortunately the tide came in, why does it do that???!!! Both shots seconds apart, but so so different...

When I gazed through my rain spattered specs, it seemed that someone had drawn a face on this piece. Only later, when uploading onto my computer did I realise my mistake.
Shudda gon to Specsavers?
Taking random pictures of people going about their business can be fun. Here is an example - the more you look, the more you see in this street scene.
God can be found in the garden of the vicarage next to the Abbey in Bury St. Edmunds
You can find more photos on my Webshots homepage
Looking through my photographs for something to share, I found this one which was taken on the perimeter of a dog show. I think the dog is a real Black Beauty, and as you can see he really stands out from the crowd ![]()
The moon looks so appealing in the sky, but it doesn't make a good subject for my amateur photographic efforts. This is the best that I've achieved so far. You can click to make it bigger.
This bird posed for me last week on a high wall near the Brecon Monmouth canal.
Does anyone know what sort of Dove it is?
Once upon a time we went to see my husband's ceilings at Saatchi Gallery which he made as a dry-line fixer..
I can proudly say that we can see his works at gallery ;)
Anyway, we enjoyed the contact with modern art as well.
There was a huge room with scary imitations of naked body.
My kids were walkig & looking around but finaly, maybe becouse they are very closed to each other, they standed in this same place & I captured this with my old Konnica Minolta.

Picture taken in the forest, looking for berries.
Seen on a car windscreen, (outside a school), in Southampton.
Few months ago I was lucky to cupture:
I sent it to BBC site & they called to me for a permition to publish it as a photo of day. I agreed but now I regret becouse actualy my lows to this pic are lost & I cannot put it to some competition for egzample:((

Figure/Bust/Statue..........

.
A local Statue, in front of the Massive house his dad made,,,,,,,, This is why I took this. He actually did nothing apart from being the son of someone famous!!!!!!!! GO FIGURE!!!!
P.S Figure ironic, will they make a statue of me??????????
As you can see Stevie, I had to tart about with it a little to get rid of the sunlit section of rock at the top of the frame...and de-focus the background.
...of you who think that you can't get a sharp photo from a 'compact'..'point and shoot'..look at what you can get:
