Journey to Matthw Tomb
Hi,
This was my journey to Matthew tomb (nabi Matta in Arabic)
It's in Tartus, Syria
The tomb lies in the mont of the mountain called (Gabal Alnabi Matta) in English: mountain of prophet Matta.
The thomb is too old, old man there told me that the man under ground is Matthew (Jesus's Matthew!!) I searched wikipedia about it but the results are different!

Lobelia
The Lobelia has been lovely this summer, it is such a gorgeous colour.
Just look at this.
Wanted to say something big and colourful..that's all.![]()
Embra
Carlton Hill is one of my favourite places in the world.
I love to watch the light change
and the mood changes
but once the sun has gone down it gets cold, so we came down to street level
as the sky turned pink
and the colours deepened
Just before darkness fell and it was time to get a cocktail.

I might not be able to answer for the comment.
Orchid - Reflected
I like the effect created by the reflection of the flower in the glass.
(Photo was taken with flower in front of a window)
Sunlit Orchid
The flowers looked lovely with the sun shining through the petals.
Geranium
This geranium was late flowering, but it looked good in the sun today.
Spider's Web
The lovely weather today, tempted me into the garden with my camera. I took photos of flowers and then I saw this, pity the spider wasn't home to complete the picture.

Made to last..
Some sights from my recent visit to Lake Como. Some things last for ages and some look like they will never last...

Ugly me!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rest in peace.
Rest in peace Mott and Rufus. One of these (presumably dogs) was buried in a marked grave in 1944, during wartime - a privilege that was denied to thousands of soldiers who died in the trenches - just an observation...
Not 'Dennypoos Acres'
Anymore?
Esspee has complained about the lack of involvement by the moderators of this group. I can only speak for myself which I have done. Here's my response:
"As you say I still do comment and post - if you want to be a moderator there's no problem as far as I can see. We were all co-opted when the group was formed that's all.
Just try not to get so angry about things .... there's no big deal. The other moderators may have their reasons for not posting/commenting. I for one generally post my photos on my own photoblog rather than here for my own reasons. I'll happily stand aside.
Pro status has no bearing - I don't have it (apart from six months for being a bloscar winner)."
I've taken the liberty of giving moderator status to Steve (Esspee) and Tom (Seasideman) if anyone wants to volunteer just say the word to any of the moderators without making a big deal out of it!
Now let's all get back to enjoying the photos shall we?
Thank you
Marian
Maybe Select New Moderators.........
I used to be one!!!! "Rabbit" has not been on for over a Year.....
"Rampage" set this Group up God bless him, he actually explained that's all he did!!
I think that when I was a Moderator I did try daily to view and comment................
Nuff Said..................
Am I opening up a can of worms????????????
For the record, I have no desire to be one (been there done that) but if we have to have some may we have one that actually comes on here?????
Reflections of Summer

Before and After.
One or two people have expressed doubt as to how difficult it can be to obtain a half decent result when all things conspire against you. So, my friends here's an example of what can be achieved when you start with something most people would bin.
As you can see the dust on my sensor is getting worse, but thankfully is only visible under certain conditions. So, using Elements7, I got rid of that.
There's a street lamp and the plane is on supports, (in the middle of a busy roundabout, but that's another story on it's own), and the roofline of a building is also in the frame. So I got rid of those too.
The propeller is too sharp, so I gave it some radial blur.
And finally I added a bit of warmth to the whole scene, et VOILA.
One iconinc image.....................I thank you.
Slight Change!!!!!!!
This time I am not undecided between Colour or Mono........
Its between which one of these is best LOL!!!!.......
YOU DECIDE!!!!!!!!!!
Bottoms up!
What's that on your Head, Little Spider?
I snapped this spider earlier and didn't notice at the time, but what on earth is that big triangle where it's head should be?
Click the picture to make it even bigger and scarier!
Cheers, Tom.

A Snowy Path
Afterglow
We had a truly amazing sunset last night. Everything just seemed to glow.
Photos were taken only minutes apart.
Old and Wrinkly.
Thus proving to sundry callow youths, (you know who you are), that not everything that is old and wrinkly and past it's 'best by' date, is without beauty, elegance and delicacy.
What is this?
An insect, sure, but what kind? It's not a grass hopper, it's definitely not a spider (only 6 legs); so it must be a ... ??
It was hanging on to the window frame next to our entrance door when I got home this afternoon. Beautiful green, especially on the black frame.
Maybe I should call it "Kermit"??

Full moon, Sep 09
Snatched in a brief moment when the clouds parted. It's not as sharp as I'd like because of a bit of lingering cloud.
It gets bigger if you click on it.

A morning snap
Hi to everybody...Ray decided to try to catch the incredibly fast moving blue tits on the fat balls this morning through the conservatory glass...used the zoom for the first time and did catch one of them...plus a sparrow on the ground...used to have loads every morning, now we see only a couple or so, but, at least, there are still a few left...click on them to see larger images...![]()
Great big hugs to one and all...
