If you're wondering what is the point of this photo, I can tell you; the blurred bit in the centre of the image (behind the wire) was what I was interested in. There were several Fox tails hung up like a macabre trophy, but as you can see, I was prevented from photographing them by the undergrowth and the wire fence.

Think maybe I am glad I cannot see them.

ARe they hung up as awarning to other foxes? Foxes are vermin, although they are very good looking animals, they do have nasty habits.
Don't game keepers hang birds up as a deterrant?

Could be, they were in an allotment where there were chickens and geese. But if the number of tails are a measure, it seems the foxes aren't getting the message

Are there that many foxes locally? Or perhaps there aren't any left now.
MarikaSunSeeker [Member] 08/07/09 @ 18:34
I assume that these ones were caught locally, I guess that there could be plenty about.

We have a mole catcher locally who advertises his sucesses by this method. Gruesome! I can't help but worry how children might be affected if they saw them.

A mole catcher! You should be out there photographing this rural artisan for posterity's sake, if not for mine as I have visions of a straw chewing, smock wearing old crinkly, when the truth is probably much more mundane. Mole catcher. Are you sure it's not just the local yobbo's showing off.

Oh I so very nearly took a pic of my mole catcher. (He's much more humane than this other horror.) Only not cos he was the character one imagines, but because he was SUCH a hunk !! LOL
dennypoos [Member] 09/07/09 @ 06:31
I don't want hunky mole'rs. If I can't have an old and wrinkly, I'll just not have one at all. Consider yourself relieved of catching a mole catcher.

Very strange! He turned up on the doorstep this morning, the hunk, not the mole. Wonder if he's lurking/researching here! In light of Garderngirls experience, I suppose its entirely possible.
Hi Mick ...... you okay?
dennypoos [Member] 10/07/09 @ 06:29
Oh I geddit. We're on first name terms with Mick, but us non-molecatchers don't get to see his fizog. Hunk indeed! I bet he's a spotty lard-arse.

That's your auto-focus buggering you up I suspect. The way round this is either to manual focus, if that is possible. Or to set the camera as if you were taking a landscape/distant view. Most cameras would then ignore the foreground rubbish and lock themselves on 'infinity'.

I will have another go

I like the mystery of this shot.
