I have to hold my hand up and say I'm not one... just recognise this plant
We had a few quite knowledgeable folks around...recognised it immediately -- with loads of extra info!

mojacar [Member] 07/07/09 @ 20:07
What are you going to do with it? Have you got a recipe? Or is it just for admiring!
Just growing it for 'show'; never thought of eating it....are they all edible?
mojacar [Member] 07/07/09 @ 21:36
The herb Angelica a green variety = when I was young you could get green sugared diamonds, that you put on top of iced buns, that was called angelica. I am assuming it is the same plant family.
You know what they say about assume = it makes an ass of you and me.
That's why I don't want to 'assume' this one is edible! Will check it out...
BTW....I remember too well those delicious little 'sweeties' on the ice buns...

I was very fond of, and very proud of my green one ....... till I saw your ebony one. Now I'm bored with my green one
Maybe I'll eat it.
Problem is I need to check out whether this black one is edible; don't know much about the edible side of the plant!
TheDinnerLady [Member] 09/07/09 @ 00:09
I haven't a clue which bit's the edible bit of the green ones, let alone your beautiful black variety.
Nor have I! Have checked it out...can't find anything, but I now know that mine is definitely a 'New' variety! Thanks!
