Gorgeous. The pictures I mean, not the pub. Although I'm sure the pub is fine too.

Yes indeed, to be fair it is not a bad pub. Fairly average, serves food on Sundays (although we did not eat there today), but it is the location on the top of a high hill over looking the forest that is stunning.

Oh, yesterday I wished I'd taken my camera...some of the maples are at their best now, but did notice quite a few trees still haven't got their autumn coats on yet...the journey to Salisbury is actually lovely...you cross Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire and there are the prettiest thatched cottages for several miles in Wiltshire and wide open vistas, and the spire of the Cathedral suddenly appears and you know you're nearly in Salisbury...very lovely pics...GBHs...XXX

many of the trees around here are still green and in full leaf. But I noticed this weekend that a number of them have suddenly turned so it will probably go quite quickly now.
On the lake today some Coots were making a nest and were acting broody, one of them had dragged a dropped ice cream cornet onto the nest, the other was finishing the ice cream on the bank and grimacing at the coldness of it.
I think the sudden change of weather has even confuse nature.

Don't you just love when nature starts showing us the colors of the rainbow. Even though we know what is going to follow.

Every phase of the year has its beauty.
I suppose the winter is one of the most beautiful times if the truth be told. I cannot think of a more beautiful sight than one of those misty frosty mornings over a heathland, with one of those flaming red sunrises breaking through the mist and reflecting in a pond while the gorse and the thistles are all covered in frost crystals. I just hate the lack of daylight in the winter and the cold.

I agree. I think the sight of the first snow is beautiful. I just can't stand the lack of daylight. The sun does make a difference. I use to say I didn't care how cold it was as long as the sun was out. but now I really don't want it real cold. Just not so hot either. But, everyday brings something beautiful forth if we just look
