The sun is so strong today, the periphery of the lake is baked hard.

This dragonfly seemed to be enjoying soaking up the rays.

Yes not such a good quality pic though as zoomed in from some distance so as not to startle.

There was a beautiful blue one as well but couldn't get a pic of him he was over the water.

Handsome...

We see a fair few of them patrolling up and down the river like little helicopters...

They're very territorial...

You did well to get anywhere near a stationary one !

Waltham Abbey near us is surrounded by lots of little streams from the old mills nearby. In the summer on a nice day the air is thick with them.
