Fascinating how many variations there are in spider's colouring and patterns...and we have had, more or less, only the white butterflies around this year...terrible year for both spiders and butterflies around here and even worse for bees...nice pics...GBHs...XXX

I managed to get some pics of a brown butterfly that I didn't recognise too, but they didn't turn out very well. I've seen reddish ones too, but apart from that just the white ones.

I thought it would eat me!

You are too hairy probably, I did see something weird at the weekend a green colured fly sooking the limited juices out of a dandy long legs!

Weird. I saw a bright green fly earlier, actually, but it flew off before I could get a pic of it.

Tom.

Seriously?

Yup, seriously. It was vividly bright green all over it's back.

I think one of us should ask the question on the Answers Group?

I have never seen a fly like that before eating other insects..!

I agree with you, murphymole, but my other half is terrified of them! I shan't be showing her the spider picture...

Lovely pics.

I particularly like the detail and the colour of the second one.

Thanks, I was lucky to get that one. They flit around very quickly.

Tom.
