Aye but it is OK to look at...
Similar to Dali's use of crutches to show emotional and psycological supports.
The hand above the head suggests an almost puppet on a string with no strings shown, futher showing a lack of control belief in everday affairs.

Interesting - except it was a foot growing out of the top of the head!

modern totem...could be symbolic with feet on the head of the sacred being trodden underfoot...hmmm...that's only a very wild guess...LOL...GBHs...XXX

Yup I know...that's why I said it was a very wild guess...HLOL...damned if I know what it means...can't see the point in making something that is meaningless but maybe the sculptor has explained somewhere what he/she intended...needs an explanation!

It's got me puzzled - I tried to find out about it but couldn't ![]()
Perhaps I'll try and get the sculptor's name next time I'm there.

I liked it in a funny sort of way - but I wish I knew what it was supposed to represent!
ps did you have a nice excursion?
| murphymole pro 21/09/08 @ 18:00 |
Had a lovely day
though when we met at Calke Abbey it was packed as the local radio were hosting a day.
So we went to Melbourne had a lovely lunch then walked round Melbourne Hall gardens. Weather perfect
I am quite taken by the tree with two trunks in the background

Me, no, no idea what it is, but, as you say, interesting.
