If only my arms were that long :-)
I used a 10-second timer.
Tom.

Ah ha.....set the timer then a quick run to get into position!
SeasideMan pro 07/09/08 @ 22:12
That's it. A quick shuffle backwards and sit down in this case though!

You look very brown and healthy. What are you stood in front of... or are you lying on a rug?
SeasideMan pro 07/09/08 @ 19:12
Well spotted, Deana. That's a Turkish carpet. I draped it over a table and sat cross-legged on the floor in front of it.
The sun and sea seem to agree with me.

Nice one Tom yes you do look fit and well.
SeasideMan pro 07/09/08 @ 20:25
Thankyou. I think it must be the sea air and the dog-walking.

I thought it was Mike Myers in the Love Guru!
SeasideMan pro 07/09/08 @ 20:45
I can see the similarity...
Tom.
la_spice [Member] 07/09/08 @ 20:51
Our very own love guru!!!
SeasideMan pro 07/09/08 @ 21:01
That's better than Ringo Starr who I was told I looked like recently...

You'll have to sign on as a celebrity lookalike!
I am sorry that I haven't seen your picture until now. Its great.
You look very distiguished and learned. Very well done. I know how difficult it is. David.
PS I hope more folks will have a try and blog their image; we can easily extend the challenge for another week.
SeasideMan pro 07/09/08 @ 21:26
Thanks David, I'm very grateful for your positive comments.
I would like to see other people's efforts too. We're in no rush here at all, so another week sounds most acceptable.
Tom.
I'm glad you took up the challenge and you found it a difficult as I did. David.
SeasideMan pro 07/09/08 @ 21:36
I did struggle with it. It took me about 10 goes to get a picture I was happy with. Getting the right combination of lighting, background and expression is far harder than it looks.
Tom.
I took far more shots and on some looked miserable then Spicey said I needed a red jumper ! I'm going to try again asap following her advice . David.
PS She refused to post her picture. Shame on the lovely poet and photographer. David.
SeasideMan pro 07/09/08 @ 22:36
I think we need to collectively encourage Spicey to post her self-portrait. I bet it would be a really good one.
Tom.
I know she is a lovely girl. David.
But we'd better not press too hard.
dennypoos [Member] 08/09/08 @ 16:09
You could do to photoshop out the red-eye a little more, or better still do away with flash on camera, unless of course you wish to go for the 'mug-shot' look albeit a Turkish one judging by the rug.
We could always call it a 'rug-shot'?
Denny.
(I expect better in the near future when spurred on by your course).
SeasideMan pro 08/09/08 @ 16:27
The advice is appreciated, thanks.
Tom.

Yep Tom, I would have recognised you anywhere, just like I imagined.
SeasideMan pro 08/09/08 @ 19:14
That's a strangely comforting thought, thanks.
Tom.
