The dark patch just above the sea grew and grew until the whole sky turned black, and then down came the deluge.
Cheers, Tom.

You lucky old sea dog, I would love to live near that view, however stormy.

I don't mind the bad weather at all. The sea and sky just get more and more dramatic. I'm on the beach every single day and every time I do it I think how lucky I am.

They sky here was just like but with tinges of orange and yellow....that'll be for the thunder that come with the rain!
Very moody photo Tom xx

We had the yellow tinge thing a bit later. The wind is howling like a banshee now, but the monsoon has finally stopped.

As long as the "Storm coming" is not in the Terminator sense of the word.

The sky certainly know how to look threatening without saying anything...always impressed by its size and stature...
Very nice pic...GBHs...XXX

We've seem to have had nothing but threatening skies recently. Sunny this morning, but the clouds are still there...

Ooooh, love that photo! Storm clouds are so fantastically dramatic!
Took some myself this morning but haven't downloaded them yet.
Only the sea is missing on my photos ...

Thanks, I love being able to watch the storms roll in across the sea :-)

I saw something very similar on the coast at Brighton a few years ago...the horizon went very dark, darker than the sea, then very quickly the whole sky filled up and torrential rain came down.
I do like your cloudscapes! I remember at school being told that the Dutch artistic tradition was very much into the study of clouds, because their landscape is very very flat. But maybe other artisic traditions missed a trick by neglecting cloud studies - your pictures demonstrate the beauty and drama that can be found there!

I lived in Brighton for 3 years when I was a student. It's a great town and I have very fond memories of it.
I didn't know that about Dutch artists. Very interesting, thankyou.

How nice - someone who appreciates what's on his doorstep...

I absolutely LOVE it here. It's the best place I've ever lived and it makes me happy every day when I open the curtains to see what the sea is doing.
