Flat Bread
After seeing Usky's pic of the bread that he posted this morning, it somehow reminded me of a photo I took on my trip to Cairo in January 2007.
The quality of most of the photos on this site is amazing but I know you aren't averse to bloggers like me posting the occasional snapshot.
So here are my bread pics taken in downtown Cairo.

I've posted a few more pics from my trip to Cairo on my

Young love beside Loch Ness.
The is no question that whatever the weather Loch Ness has the most romantic of atmospheres and many weddings [ and probably engagements ] have taken place at Dores. The Dores Inn has the most excellent food and wines. I recommend anyone to visit the famous Loch and stay awhile.

Lochness Monster; not seen tonight.
Despite waiting around the Monster didn't show up. A good shot syndicated to newspapers and magazines of anything with the faintest resemblance to this Monster can bring great financial rewards. One man at Dores has given up everything to live in a van beside the Loch and keep a permanent watch over the deep waters. Other images can be seen on my web site at www.lochnessimages.com

London photos...
Hi guys,
I've recently set up a blog for my online website. I'm going to have a professional gallery of photos on there based in London. Just looking for cool ideas of places to take photos... Does anyone know where the banksy art is in London?...
Thanks
David.

The Sky's on fire
Me and My girlfriend took a walk along Hasting's Sea front, When I notice the Sky I had to take a picture, I will admit to cropping a bit along the bottom. As it wasn't the building I was trying to show but the colours in the sky, I was plesently surprised to find when I got home a Gull had flown in shot.

To sail the ocean blue; just you and me.
I think you will agree that the best images are usually the simplest. This one really appeals to me and reminds of the words ' we sailed away for a year and a day '. You can click on the image to enlarge it. I think it was Seaside man who told me how to get bigger images. I remember for 9 months when I could only do thumbnails. The blog teaches as well as being a space to display one's work.

Cock and Bull Story
The Cock of the North
![]()
The Bull's Head
![]()
A Cock and Bull Story
Meaning:
A fanciful and unbelievable tale.
Origin:
Stony Stratford (the stony ford on the Roman road) is located on the old Roman road of Watling Street, now the A5. In the 18th and early 19th centuries - Stony Stratford was an important stopping-off point for mail and passenger coaches travelling between London and the North of England.
The Cock and The Bull were two of the main coaching inns in the town and the banter and rivalry between groups of travellers is said to have resulted in exaggerated and fanciful stories, which became known as 'cock and bull stories'. The two hostelries did, and still do, exist.
Fishing boat.
We watched this boat go out at ten o/clock one evening and then returning at about ten the following morning with its catch. Twelve hours at sea in that? Who would dare complain about the cost of fresh fish.

Kimberworth Cemetrey
There are two of these small buildings side by side. Sadly, all just left idle. Many of the windows have been smashed, and are now covered with netting, and the walls and doors are covered in grafitti.
Sad to think anyone could do this to such lovely buildings. If i had the money i would love to do them up.
Last night's sunset over the Beauly Firth.

The Moon Close Up
I took this picture of the moon a while back... Ok Ok I used my Telescope but hey the result is quite good....
Weird clouds
Thursday afternoon when I was going home from work, I noticed these oddly shaped clouds. What strikes me as weird is that they were extremely long with lots of space (blue skies) to the next long cloud.
A bit like raw baguettes on a tray, lying next to each other ready for the oven, but far enough apart to not bake together
Any tips for moon photos?
As you may know, this night will be an eclipse of the full moon (at roughly 22:15 British summer time, depending on where you live). And I want to take photos of it.
I've tried to take photos of the nearly full moon last night, and in spite of using the "night" program of my camera and a tripod, it's still a bit blurry:
QueeneMab had suggested changing the ISO setting (which I hadn't done on these photos).
Do you have any other suggestions on how to avoid moon photos being blurry? Apart from a "remote commander" which I don't have yet (and neither do I have a tele zoom yet).
Coco
Here is a picture of my gorgeous Staffordshire Bull Terrier enjoying some fresh air, although you can see in her eyes she is begging for a walkies or W...A...L...K as we have to spell in front of her and i think shes even getting to know what we are spelling! Who said Staffis were thick?!?!?!

Here is a picture of my best friend and me! Coco keeps me company and is the most loyal dog i have ever had! I couldnt believe how lucky was to get this photo as she never normally stands still long enough for me to get a still shot of her, that is why i just had to put this up even though im not looking lovely in it!

Honeysuckle
The Wild Honey-Suckle
By Philip Freneau
Fair flower, that dost so comely grow,
Hid in this silent, dull retreat,
Untouched thy honied blossoms blow,
Unseen thy little branches greet;
...No roving foot shall crush thee here,
...No busy hand provoke a tear.
By Nature's self in white arrayed,
She bade thee shun the vulgar eye,
And planted here the gaurdian shade,
And sent soft waters murmuring by;
...Thus quietly thy summer goes,
...Thy days declinging to repose.
Smit with those charms, that must decay,
I grieve to see your future doom;
They died--nor were those flowers more gay,
The flowers that did in Eden bloom;
...Unpitying frosts, and Autumn's power
...Shall leave no vestige of this flower.
From morning suns and evening dews
At first thy little being came:
If nothing once, you nothing lose,
For when you die you are the same;
...The space between, is but an hour,
...The frail duration of a flower.

The preservation and the destruction
The other face of Warwick
Warwick is a beautiful little town with many quaint touches as prtrayed in joebangles recent post of the victorian letter box.
When I spotted this phone box it seemed completely out of character with the rest of the town but I suppose every town has its idiots nowadays.
That was the destruction, here's the preservation
and the quirky
Getting Tee'd Off?
Then get one of these tees!! From a clever display that caught my eye, as I passed by one summer's day near the entrance to Portobello Road. It can be a colourful spot with the pub next door and the music they play on karaoke nights - so that tee-shirt shop owner has really captured the market well. Oooh, yes, it makes me wonder....
A local ceiling.
No, not in Rome, in Goring by Sea, Sussex. More pics and a bit about it on my joebangles blog.

I spotted this Victorian letter box in Warwick, actually it would have been pretty hard to miss.
My garden nine years ago
Hi to everybody...I've just found a very blurry picture of my garden when I first laid it out nine years ago now...very, very different to what it is now...had no idea it was going to grow so profusely...LOL...

Great big hugs...
Rare photos
Hi to everybody....thought I'd take some pics of my garden in the sun...HLOL...so rare these days, I needed to do it to remember what it looks like...click on them to see larger image.

Great big hugs....
You just gotta laugh.
Whilst on holiday I came across "The Caravan Gallery" and if you should come across it, and visit it, you will come away laughing.
The Caravan Gallery is a mobile exhibition venue and visual arts project run by artists Jan Williams and Chris Teasdale who are on a mission to record the ordinary and extraordinary details of life in 21st century Britain. Eager to examine cliche's and cultural trends, they are particularly drawn to absurd anomalies and curious juxtapositions, typical of places in transition and in the process of reinventing themselves.
"We will have to put a seat outside for the smokers".
No comment necessary!
The above two pictures are taken from their booklet "Glasgow" most other cities and large towns are featured in their collection, their website is, http://www.thecaravangallery.co.uk/scripts/default.asp
Second phase of lilies
Hi to everybody...slowly my lily is coming into full bloom, but thought I'd take another pic of them before the first ones to open faded...still more to go but looking gorgeous now...the bottom pic is of my succulent garden in the conservatory, which I've kept going now for about three years. Click on each to see larger image.

Great big hugs to one and all...
The face of King Arthur
Seen as you cross the bridge to Tintagel Castle. But they would say it was him wouldn't they....
Flaaaaaaaaaars!
At the Eden project.
In case you don't know or can't be bothered to google it, the Eden Project is basically some big dome style greenhouses in a quarry surrounded by gardens and such. It is a very "Green" place, concerned with the environment and such. Which is odd when you consider the only way to get there with ease is by car and when you get there the car park is so big you have to hop on a great big diesel bendy bus thing to reach it.
But one of the domes is a rain forest and the other a Mediterranean environment. And it was a good day out.
