Someone told me the boat was coming so that I was able to get ready for it. I used a 500 mm lens tripod mounted and nearly screamed [ metaphorically ] at the captain to stay further away from the shore. The boat was 1/2 a mile away from where I was. It's a lesson to all keep your tripod handy; without it no picture at all. David.
