The more time I spend using HDR software the more convinced I become of its usefulness, all the
information from any view is captured if you make enough exposures, the important part seems to be the control of the tone mapping and the visualisation of the end product rather than accepting the results given by the software.
I believe it is only a matter of time before real HDR processing is created in camera.

I have had a look at HDR and admit that some of the pictures are very good. I did download a trial version and have a go, but instead of taking 3 shots, when I converted my pictures from raw I used the setting and -2, 0 and +2 on the exposure compensation, is this the best way to go about creating the 3 images required to produce a HDR picture.

Hi Rabbit,
The number of exposure depends on the brightness range of the subject, you need to be capturing a well exposed highlight all the way through to exposing for detail in the shadows.
All of my hdr so far have been done with jpegs usually 5 but some times more, I am just starting to get the hang of making them look photographic rather than illustrative.
It appears that it works best in low light / difficult lighting
conditions, night shots are amazing !
Be prepared to do a bit in photoshop after processing, keeping the blacks black seems to be the key .
Its good to see your efforts they appear better than my early Barn Series.

Although it's not proper HDR I've seen some compacts are actually coming out with some trickery that captures a wider tonal range and does some semi-HDR jiggery pokery on the pics.
