from this angle it looks like a juvenile house sparrow, but as I can't see the underneath am not really sure, but it is a great picture

I think it's a thrush - I've got a few more shots showing its mottled underside.

It came as a great surprise to me - I heard this unusual bird cry when I was on my computer and looked out of the open window two or three times before spotting the little mite just below my window.

Whatever it is, and I see someone has commented in the next picture, a baby thrush, it looks bloody annoyed at not being looked after by its mum.
