I copied Esspee's idea and got up at 4AM this morning. Had a two hour walk with the dog and took over 800 pictures. Some of them are OK, and here are the first two. I'll post a couple more later.

I knew it was a full moon, but wasn't expecting this:
Glad to see I wasn't the only one up at 4 inh the morning, I didn't go out taking pictures though, maybe that had something to do with the rain we were having.

My camera didn't really do the moon justice either. With a decent camera and a tripod, it was perfect conditions to get some amazing moon-shots.

I was looking forward to seeing the full moon, but it was cloudy and wet here. The "blue moon" shot is lovely.

Thanks, I wasn't expecting to see the moon, so that was a nice surprise. I only just caught it too: it disappeared below the horizon at about 4:20.

Thanks, I'm glad you like that one.
I pretty much immediately deleted 700 of them. I'll weed the 100 remaining ones down to about 20. My habit is to take about 10 pictures of the same thing with different settings, to try and ensure getting at least one good one of whatever I decide is worth photographing. With time and increasing skill I hope to be able to bring that number down, but for the moment I err on the side of excess!

The moon picture is pushing the limits of my rather cheap digital camera. At least I got one good one!
