My mantelpiece

Hi to everybody...here's a photo of my mantelpiece...the begonia on the right is 22 years old now and the offshoot on the left is about three and a half years old now...amazing longevity...the secret is barely any soil with gravel and repot a rarely as possible, and sparse watering...:)

The flowers below are false and have lasted for eight or more years now....the painting over the fireplace isn't one of mine...LOL...a water colour that I bought in an exhibition because the detail in it is astonishing...sorry can't get a clear pic of it because under glass and always get a reflection...the artist painstakingly painted every blade of long grass!!

I had cyclamen that lasted ten or more years...you shouldn't over water house plants...I think a lot of people think they should water them so that they're always wet, but I've discovered they like to be nearly dry out first then you water them...:) Great big hugs...XX

Wow! Your fireplace is identical to ours except ours is mahagony not white. Even the marble backpiece and hearth look the same.
