A matter of choice

Some weeks ago I posted a constructed panorama in stark monochrome...
So anyway a chum of mine suggested the image might look more impressive if the foreground was in glorious colour, while the sky had that dramatic monochrome effect.
It would've been easy if I'd had colour versions of the original images used in my compilation. However never let it be said I'm not resourceful...
How about this? Do you like it? What would improve it? Should I have bothered in the first place?
