I went out on an errand late this afternoon, I took my camera and looked high and low for photogenic letters or numbers

The ceiling in the main hall of Victoria Hall in Saltaire doesn't always look like it did last weekend!

There is enough space for 50 guys to fire at one time.

This a typical butt of an old fring range at Rainham marshes. Its a long time since I used a firing range like this. There was a frame a frame into which a target was put, on the command the frame was raised and the soldiers fired at the target, this was then lowered, this continued until the test was finished. The guys in the butts counted the number of holes in the target which was recorded. It was quite noisy with e crack of the bullets passing overhead; it was quite safe though unless you raised your head above the parapet.
