It is indeed a very fine example of a cock chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs). We get quite a few of those around my neck of the woods.
Thank you for looking in and thank you for reassuring me its the right name. Its not an easy job photographing birds unless of the human variety ! David.

So lucky to have had the camera handy...I see birds and by the time I've got my camera set up they've mated, nested, had young, flown off and passed away...HLOL...big hugs....lovely picture....
I'm doing other jobs but looking out for them when I drink tea or coffee and leave the camera up and ready ! Thank you for looking in.

It's a real pleasure dropping in here...have seen some gorgeous pics...big hugs and thanks to everybody here for sharing them...XX
Well we are so pleased if anybody bothers to look; but I love your comments on my political outpourings. Fortunatly they are not that frequent ! David.

I think we tend to think along the same lines politically...indignation on legs, hubby too...LOL...big hugs...
You are right. Its worse than living in an 'Alice in Wonderland ' world. David.

well I think it's better to feel strongly about things than be indifferent or apathetic...I think if I stopped feeling full of indignation at injustice or acts I consider just plain wrong, I'd be better off dead...
Big hugs...

Another good bird pic David. Did see your comment on the earlier picture, good planning on your part, clever idea.
I'm surely not the first to try it...... but people seeing you do it think you are quite mad ! David.

Great picture again. You have a great eye for the birds and are obviously in the right place at the right time!!
