Charlie's Circle Challenge á la_spice!

by la_spice @ Friday, Mar. 07, 2008 - 09:13:06

Charlie said that the idea was "to get our creative minds thinking a little......from literal to abstract".

Well I've done the literal and posted the bottom of a wine bottle, a winding wheel from a well, and even a chocolate doughnut.

Now I've decided it's time to "square the circle" and "think outside the box" and include my signature movie theme plus some rhyme and give you this.

WINDMILL

Round, like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel.
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
As the images unwind
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

(Theme from The Thomas Crown Affair)

Well you know me - I like a good tilt every now and then! ;)

Quite fond of a bit of tit tilt myself....

Steady on - it's not a Windmill in Old Amsterdam!

And you're not a little mouse...

Very clever, great picture, the song goes farther back than the film. I love the film and the song.

I love the song too but have never seen the film. This was my attempt at bringing everything together and make it fun! :)

I like the "air" above the windmill. Nice example of creative circle thinking too.

Marian,
Just seen this image its fantastic. I think there could be twenty images of the same subject in different light conditions and it would make a Magazine cover. Prices for cover shots are upwards from £50 [ depending on circulation ] David.

PS Does it still work ? Moving blades would give another set of images ! David.

I'm glad you like it - I took it last Friday on my way back from Limoges!

Circles of the mind is such a good entry point for the challenge far from obvious at first and needing lateral thinking. You are in your element with photography. David.

I'm loving every minute of it! My camera is my best ever present and with me all the time. Even now I just have to reach out and it's there. :)

Well you have a touch of magic with it and it does [ as I have said before ] affect the way you look at the world. I wish I'd had a serious interest much earlier in life ! Yes its easy for anybody to take a photo, just point and shoot, but a good image is a different matter and seeing the things you never saw before is eye opening [ no pun intended ] ! David.
