Excellent - I was hoping to see a crop circle!
Well tell us how it was done ! Very nice interesting image David.

Ok, well I think I used a polarising filter and the light was excellent that day - the pic was taken in late afternoon. The camera was mounted on a unipod and held high over my head so I had to use a timer for the shutter release as a cable is too short. The camera was probably set to auto and ESP metering as I found this gave the best results when doing overhead shots. The worst part is keeping the camera as steady as possible! The OM40 is a great camera but unfortunately it eats up batteries. Since battery power drainage is an interesting anomoly of crop circles, this led to many hours of frustration!
A very clear account of how you did it. Thank you. Have you moved to digital yet? David.
PS Was it a man made circle by 'fraudsters' or something more 'out of this world' ?
David.

This is a matter for debate, and too huge a subject to cover here. I have met those who undoubtedly make them, and they are very human; however there are many anomolies which cannot be explained by someone stomping around in the dark with a plank.
I spent ten years investigating them with the Centre for Crop Circle Studies but I'm no closer to knowing what the hell is going on.
If you really want to see some stunning pics have a look at my friend Busty's website.
It's all very intriguing.
A very interesting subject and thanks for showing a clear example of it. The little figures in your image provide added interest. David.

It was always nice to be able to include figures in the crop circle pics as they provided scale.
Have been amazed by the Busty images...... incredibly complex.... just could scarcely believe it Thank you David.

Unfortunately the only digital I can afford at the moment is an Olympus Camedia which is not really up to the job.
Well the Olympus did a really good job and then you must have had to scan in the print / slide so more work for you. David.

Great photo. I'll show this to Peter. He is really into crop circles.
