Anybody know anything about Dendrochronology? This stump has what seems to be 27 normal growth rings, then one large one before it was chopped down.

Hi prydwen, can't help, didn't even know that it was called Dendrochronology, do you take in to account the missing years in the hollow bit in the middle?

I believe it is taken that one ring normally represents one year in the lifecycle of the tree. I seem to recall that the width of the ring indicates whether the climate was dry or wet that year (the wider the ring the greater the rainfall).
