Anybody know anything about Dendrochronology? This stump has what seems to be 27 normal growth rings, then one large one before it was chopped down.

So I went to the beach again

My usual policy is not to "cheat" by moving things, but I confess I did stand up the tyre to take this one.

But this one wasn't cheated at all - uncropped and unshopped - a little dark but I like the colours:

Poppy

by NotBob @ Monday, Feb. 25, 2008 - 18:15:31

I took this a few years ago with my mum's Olympus OM10 with a macro lens. I was just farting about, taking piccies of anything that took my fancy. Some people that I've shown this to have been quite impressed.

Seen on a Sunday afternoon jaunt ! Even houses don't go on forever but in all probability the cost of the site is still beyond the reach of most young people.

Good Morning

by Mrs_F @ Monday, Feb. 25, 2008 - 08:11:27

Took these before and during sunrise this morning.

I like the aura around the moon due to the clouds in the first one.

Both of the next two were taken without flash because I did not want to lose any of the colour. I do not have a tripod, but I think they are not too badly blurred and you can make out her markings reasonably well.

Any tips for improving on the images please.
